Feline Aging

It is fairly common knowledge that a dog ages 7 human years for every year of life. But how do cats age? The answer is not quite as simple as a dog does.

A cat has already aged 24 human years, by 1 years old. By the time a cat is 4 years old they are already 45 in human years. This equates to aging around 7 human years for every year after 1 years old.

Since cats age so fast it is important to make sure your cat has his or her annual vet visit. Also due to the rapid aging health changes can happen in a little as 3 months. Indoor cats tend to live longer due to their lifestyles, but with this comes a greater likelihood of your cat experiencing age related illnesses.
